Colossians 1:9-10 New International Version (NIV)
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God
This verse was part of my devotional this morning and it struck me so hard! This is exactly what I pray for each and every one of you every day! I pray this for my children, my grandchildren, my pastor and the elders of my church. I pray this for my husband, my friends and constantly for those I love.
I have been searching for a verse for The Haven Maternity Home and nothing felt quite right. Some were close, some were possible, but not a single one said anything about how much I care for each of you and how I pray for you. Today this verse just jumped off the page of my devotional book and I had to stop and just read and re-read it! This is the verse which screams how much I love you, screams the very thing which I want so desperately for you! This is exactly what my heart was searching for!
As you read this you may be honestly thinking I can’t possibly care all THAT much about people who aren’t part of my family. Without God I couldn’t. God has given me such a passion for people to live up to their full potential in Him and has given me the capacity to care THAT much. Who else could cause me to move to a place I said I never wanted to go back to and step out and take on a huge challenge like this? This is not my nature to do this, it is God’s power and love which has given me the strength and passion to do this.
I am praying that as you read this you will realize someone cares enough about you to pray for you every day. Someone cares enough to want you to have a life full of knowledge and wisdom in the Lord. Someone cares enough to pray for you constantly and continually. You matter. Your life matters. You matter to me, you matter to God, and you matter to your baby. I pray you hear my heart today and know someone cares about you and loves you.
